Favorite passage in my recent reading:
“Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.” Mark 10:13-16
It's a stern warning to the disciples but also a beautiful picture of the Savior’s words and actions. When we come to Christ in a childlike faithfulness, is this the same loving posture we can expect also? I’m sure of it. Children are so precious, how much more precious is a childlike faith to Jesus, our God, who loves us more infinitely than we can fathom?
Amen. Remembering our lot in God’s world as image bearers made to be dependent upon Christ in all things is humbling, challenging, but also God glorifying.
