History
Abide has hosted an annual retreat since 2017. Each year, between 50 and 120 young adults come together to learn from God's word and to fellowship with like-minded peers. Retreats have been held at Mount Hermon in Felton, CA, Zephyr Point in South Lake Tahoe, NV, Forest Home in Forest Falls, CA, Cedar Springs in Sumas, WA, and Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado Springs, CO.
Rev. Vince Hoppe will be preaching from the book of Jonah, covering the theme, "Faith Overboard: Discovering God’s Heart for the Lost." Vince grew up in Alamogordo, New Mexico, as the son of an immigrant mother and a military father. He became a Christian while studying at New Mexico State University. He and his wife, Holly, worked in campus ministry for ten years before moving to Colorado Springs. They both attended Covenant Theological Seminary, where Vince graduated with his MDiv in 2016. Their love for the Western U.S. drew Vince, Holly, and their 4 children to Colorado Springs to plant a new church and see people continue to be reached with the life-changing message of Jesus. Vince enjoys cycling, fly-fishing, playing with his kids, and hanging out with his wife. He can often be found with his nose in a book at a coffee shop or having conversations with strangers at random places.
